The Macallan Single Highland Malt Whisky 17 Year Old · 1965 Vintage
Out of stock
A vintage 17 year old Speyside single malt that was distilled at The Macallan distillery in 1965 and bottled for the UK market in 1983.
This exceptionally rare Sherry-matured Macallan is vastly desirable and rare.
A 17 year maturation (in a sherry cask of course), this was released as part of The Macallan's Special Selection range. It was bottled in 1983 but as only full years in the cask are counted, it is still only a 17 year old whisky.

Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep amber with mahogany depth and a warm copper glow.
Nose
Opulent sherry on the nose, with dried fig and prune, orange zest and dark chocolate. Layered with toffee, toasted almond and a touch of spice—cinnamon and clove—along warm polished oak. A whisper of leather hints at decades in a well-kept cask.
Palate
Silky, full-bodied and richly sherried, with dark fruit—prune, fig and orange peel—layered with toffee, cacao and toasted almond. Spices of cinnamon and clove emerge, carried by suave oak. The finish is long, warm and refined, leaving echoes of dried fruit, leather and espresso on the palate.
Finish
An exceptionally long, luxurious finish that unfurls with Sherry-driven richness: dark fruit, fig and plum, wrapped in caramel, cocoa and a whisper of orange zest, then warmed by mounting spice. Oak notes linger as a polished, enduring echo, leaving a refined, velvet-soft afterglow.
