Light mahogany with a natural, warm amber glow.

Nose

Opulent sherry aroma envelops dried fruits—raisins and plums—with a lift of orange zest and a whisper of ginger. Rich oak, cocoa nibs and a hint of leather emerge, delivering mahogany warmth and a refined, luxurious bouquet.

Palate

Full-bodied, the palate unfolds with mature oak, ginger and raisin notes—warm, layered and sumptuous; a refined sherry backbone carries the sweetness into a long, luxurious finish.

Finish

Long and opulent, the finish lingers with warm spice and rich dried fruit. Ginger and cinnamon weave through the oak, while raisin and fig deepen, leaving a smooth trail of dark chocolate and caramel.

The Macallan
Macallan was founded by Alexander Reid in 1824 on the Easter Elchies Estate above the River Spey, and it was one of the first distilleries in Scotland to become legally licensed. The name comes from the older place name “Maghellan”, combining the Gaelic magh for fertile ground with a reference to St Fillan, who was associated with the church that once stood on the estate. Easter Elchies House, which remains central to the brand’s identity, dates from around 1700 and still sits at the heart of the estate.
