The Macallan Quest pays homage to the entirety of the journey taken by The Macallan to source the best oak across over 20,000 miles.

It concludes with the selection of four different but complimentary casks types to deliver a single malt whisky that creates a genuine expectation of further exploration and enjoyment.

Colour

Bright golden amber with sunlit honey hues.

Nose

Soft citrus notes with rounded apple and lemon, underscored by vanilla sweetness and a whisper of oak. Fresh, inviting, and immediately aromatic.

Palate

Apple with ginger and dried fruits on the palate, while nutmeg and cinnamon weave through, softening and fading to a subtle, lingering warmth.

Finish

Long, graceful finish with soft, light fruit and a balanced medium sweetness, leaving a delicate citrus-apple glow and a whisper of spice.

The Macallan
Macallan was founded by Alexander Reid in 1824 on the Easter Elchies Estate above the River Spey, and it was one of the first distilleries in Scotland to become legally licensed. The name comes from the older place name “Maghellan”, combining the Gaelic magh for fertile ground with a reference to St Fillan, who was associated with the church that once stood on the estate. Easter Elchies House, which remains central to the brand’s identity, dates from around 1700 and still sits at the heart of the estate.
