Colour

Radiant golden amber with coppery highlights, a warm, honeyed glow.

Nose

Opulent sherry-cask aroma greets the nose: orange zest, dried fig and raisin mingle with vanilla, toffee and malt. Warm spices—cinnamon and nutmeg—flutter through alongside oak, cocoa and a whisper of almond, creating a velvety sweetness that invites another sip.

Palate

Silky, gently sherried on the palate, with vanilla‑creamy toffee and orange zest over dried fruit. Spice arises—cinnamon, nutmeg—while polished oak provides structure. The finish is warm and lasting, with subtle sweetness and a refined oak glow.

Finish

Long, refined finish with velvety oak and soft spice. Dried fruits—raisins and orange peel—linger alongside cocoa and toffee notes, gradually giving way to a warm, nutty, oak-driven echo that stays with the palate.

The Macallan
Macallan was founded by Alexander Reid in 1824 on the Easter Elchies Estate above the River Spey, and it was one of the first distilleries in Scotland to become legally licensed. The name comes from the older place name “Maghellan”, combining the Gaelic magh for fertile ground with a reference to St Fillan, who was associated with the church that once stood on the estate. Easter Elchies House, which remains central to the brand’s identity, dates from around 1700 and still sits at the heart of the estate.
