Deep amber with copper‑ruby highlights and a mahogany glow.

Nose

Opulent notes of burnt orange, raisin and fig rise from toffee and dark chocolate, tempered by toasted oak. Cinnamon, clove and nutmeg weave with hints of leather and cacao, finished by a refined sherry sweetness. Festive, luxurious and warming, it hints at Christmas-box charm and winter abundance.

Palate

Opulent and velvety, it unfolds dried fruits: raisin, fig and orange marmalade, with cocoa, toffee and a touch of spice. Sherry-soaked oak carries cinnamon and nutmeg, leaving a long, refined warmth and a festive Christmas-pudding finish.

Finish

Long, luxurious finish that coats the palate with rich dried fruits—raisin, fig and orange zest—woven with toffee and dark chocolate. Spiced oak adds warmth, with subtle ginger and cinnamon notes, leaving a refined, lingering glow that echoes festive, wintery memories.

The Macallan
Macallan was founded by Alexander Reid in 1824 on the Easter Elchies Estate above the River Spey, and it was one of the first distilleries in Scotland to become legally licensed. The name comes from the older place name “Maghellan”, combining the Gaelic magh for fertile ground with a reference to St Fillan, who was associated with the church that once stood on the estate. Easter Elchies House, which remains central to the brand’s identity, dates from around 1700 and still sits at the heart of the estate.
