Colour

Golden amber with warm honey-gold highlights.

Nose

Luxurious and inviting, with toasty vanilla and creamy caramel leading a orchard-fruit chorus of ripe apple and pear. Subtle citrus zest and polished oak weave through, while delicate dried-fruit notes and almond mingle with a whisper of spice, finishing in a light sherry-sweet warmth.

Palate

Silky and creamy on the palate, vanilla and honey usher in orchard fruits with orange zest. Subtle dried-fruit notes—raisin and fig—join gentle spice and cocoa, carried by refined oak. A clean, balanced finish.

Finish

Long, refined finish with sherry-influenced sweetness, vanilla and spice lingering over warm oak, finishing with a bright note of citrus zest.

The Macallan
Macallan was founded by Alexander Reid in 1824 on the Easter Elchies Estate above the River Spey, and it was one of the first distilleries in Scotland to become legally licensed. The name comes from the older place name “Maghellan”, combining the Gaelic magh for fertile ground with a reference to St Fillan, who was associated with the church that once stood on the estate. Easter Elchies House, which remains central to the brand’s identity, dates from around 1700 and still sits at the heart of the estate.
