Tamdhu which is at the time of writing is a silent distillery was only industrialized in the early 1970's which means that this cask from 1958 will have been distilled very much in the old traditional way with floor malted barley, dried with peat fires and the distillery still having coal fired stills. This bottle is complete with an original distillery letter and personalised certificate.

Opulent nose of aged sherry fruit—fig, raisin and orange peel—woven with toffee and toasted oak. Rich cocoa, spice, and caramelized sugar mingle with hints of leather and tobacco, while a subtle coal-smoked peat underscores the depth and elegance.
Palate
Silky and refined, this 42-year Tamdhu in sherry cask delivers a dark fruit core of fig, prune and raisin, lacquered with luxuriously toffee, cocoa and orange zest. Subtle peat smoke threads through the mid-palate, harmonising with polished oak and spice. The finish is long and warm, with leather, cocoa nibs and a nutty sweetness lingering elegantly.
Finish
An exceptionally long, elegant finish that unfolds with rich sherry fruit—fig and raisin—married to dark cocoa and toasted almond. Spiced orange and cinnamon drift over warm oak, fading to a velvety glow that lingers as a refined, resinous echo.
