Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep burnished amber with copper-gold highlights and a warm mahogany glow, catching the light with regal, aged richness.
Nose
Coastal, commanding aroma: sea spray and peat smoke mingle with iodine and a peppery bite. Sherry-soaked dark fruit—fig and raisin—twists with vanilla, oak and a touch of praline. A briny lift and mineral spark underpin the cask-strength depth, delivering a refined, enduring warmth that hints at decades of maturity.
Palate
Vibrant, full-bodied, and maritime. Flashes of peat smoke ride a bracing sea-salt breeze, while black pepper and heat kiss the palate. Notes of vanilla, treacle, and dried fruit unfold beneath robust oak, finishing with a long, smoky ember and mineral zest.
Finish
Firmly maritime and lingering, the finish blooms with coastal smoke, sea-salt and cracked black pepper. Sherried sweetness threads through dark chocolate, dried figs and toasted oak, then expands into warming spice. A long, resinous tail of peat and mineral salinity coats the palate, fading to a refined, briny kiss as the alcohol eases.
