Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep amber with mahogany undertones and a warm copper-gold glow.
Nose
An elegant, time-worn bouquet of dried fig and prune, raisin and coffee bean, braided with orange zest and warming sherry spice. Underneath lie polished oak, cedar, and subtle tobacco, with hints of toffee and honey. The aroma speaks of decades in cask—rich, refined, and invitingly complex.
Palate
Silky and full on the palate, this 48-year-old Strathisla delivers a velvety mouthfeel with waxy, honeyed sweetness. Rich sherry fruit follows—fig, date and raisin—intertwined with orange zest, toffee and dark chocolate. Spiced oak—cinnamon, nutmeg—adds a refined warmth, while almond and walnut notes emerge toward a long, polished finish that lingers with orchard fruit and gentle spice.
Finish
Long, elegant finish with warm sherry sweetness that lingers on dried fig, orange zest and cocoa. Subtle walnut and toasted oak carry spicy notes—nutmeg and clove—into a final echo of leather and tobacco, leaving a polished, refined glow that whispers of aged Speyside malt.
