Here we have the Connoisseurs Choice edition of Strathisla from one of the premier independent bottlers Gordon & MacPhail. Distilled in 2008 and aged 13 years in a first fill sherry hogshead cask, no.17603108, it was bottled at natural cask strength, which is 59.7% ABV. This was released as part of their excellent Connoisseurs Choice series exclusively for the UK market with only 344 bottles were filled.
On the nose there are aromas of sherry combined with ginger and rich honey. Sweet stewed red berry flavours compliment orange and aniseed. A medium-bodied finish with fruit and spice.

Finish
Medium-length finish of fruity warmth and spice, with lingering notes of orange zest, red berries and ginger, finished by a soft sherry kiss that slowly fades.
