Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep antique amber with a warm copper-gold sheen and mahogany undertones.
Nose
Springbank’s coastal peat and sea-salt rise first, tempered by waxy fruit and oak. Sherry-draped notes of raisin, fig and dark chocolate unfold alongside toasted almond and spice. A lean, briny edge persists, with leather and a whisper of tobacco—an elegant, old Campbeltown portrait in a single cask.
Palate
Powerful and maritime, this Springbank 1977 single cask greets with lush sherry sweetness, smoke and red fruit. Rich fig, raisin and toffee mingle with briny sea spray, toasted almond and dark chocolate. Spices and oak weave through the mid-palate, finishing long and warming with peat, leather and a final salt-kissed echo.
Finish
Long maritime finish, peat smoke and sea-salt cling to the palate, slowly yielding dark dried fruit, fig and treacle. Cocoa and spice deepen the aftertaste, with oak lending warmth and a peppery bite as a faint iodine-tinged sherry sweetness lingers.
