Tasting Notes

Colour

Rich amber-gold with copper-bronze depth and a warm, honeyed glow.

Nose

Sea-salted peat and maritime brine rise with gentle smoke, layered over malt and toffee. Sherry-cask notes bring dark fruit, cocoa and a hint of nuttiness, while vanilla and oak glow softly in the background.

Palate

Coastal, softly peated with a whisper of sea spray. Nutty malt, dried fruit and cocoa mingle with a delicate sherry sweetness; elegant oak frames the palate, leaving a clean, lightly maritime finish.

Finish

Long, peat-forward finish with sea-salt smoke and lingering sherry fruit on warm oak. Cocoa, spice and a refined mineral note ebb slowly, leaving an elegant, final sigh.

(SPRING-bank) The 14th distillery to be built in the region of Campbeltown, Springbank is still owned by the Mitchell family, who also own the Glengyle distillery in the same region. Springbank produces three different styles of Single Malt; Hazelburn (triple distilled and non peaty) Longrow (twice distilled and heavy peat of 50-55ppm) and Springbank itself (two and a half times distilled and peated to 12-15ppm). Springbank is also one of the few distilleries that malt their own barley and bottle on site.
