Port Dundas (silent) Infrequent Flyers Single Cask #72910 Whisky 24 Year Old · 1995 Vintage
Out of stock
A lovely older Grain whisky from the now silent Port Dundas distillery in Glasgow. Aged for 24 years in a single refill barrel. Expect delicate cereal notes wrapped around gentle vanilla and spice. Fresh and delicately aromatic, there have been a number of these older grain bottlings recently and all have been pleasant on the palate.
This is the 2nd batch of Single cask whiskies from the Alistair Walker Whisky Company, cask strength and natural colour with a focus on some high quality but lesser known distilleries.
A great example of what age and decent wood management can do for single grain whisky. Demolished in 2011.

Tasting Notes
Colour
Natural golden straw with a delicate amber sheen, a warm, honeyed glow reflecting 24 years in refill wood.
Nose
Delicate almonds rise on the nose, mingling with Parma violet sweets, while a faint nail-polish nuance adds a crisp, resinous edge to a fresh, lightly aromatic introduction.
Palate
Cherry Bakewell tarts with Demerara sugar lead into marzipan, honey and vanilla. The palate is creamy and lightly oily, with delicate cereal notes wrapped in gentle spice that lingers warmly.
Finish
Warm, long, and luxuriously oily, this finish coats the palate with a silky warmth that lingers. Almond and vanilla persist, with a whisper of spice and a delicate sweetness, fading into a polished, refined afterglow.
