Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep amber with burnished copper highlights and a warm, honeyed glow.
Nose
Uncompromising Islay peat and sea‑air iodine surge from the glass, wrapped in sherry-cask warmth. Dried fruit notes—prune and raisin—sit with dark chocolate and espresso, while lacquered wood, vanilla, and a peppery bite add depth and lift.
Palate
Briny peat floods the palate with searing intensity, lifted by sherry sweetness. Dark cherry and fig mingle with cocoa, leather and vanilla-spice as pepper threads through the heat. The finish is maritime and smoky, with char and ash, a saline iodine echo and lingering warmth—bold Islay character in a compact 5-year frame.
Finish
Long, maritime finish of peat smoke and rich sherry sweetness lingers on the palate. A mineral salt bite yields to embered oak, dark fruit, and cocoa, slowly fading into warming spice and black pepper. The coastal smoke endures, settling into a honeyed caramel glow.
