Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep sunlit amber with copper-gold highlights and a hint of mahogany.
Nose
Peat smoke leans into the sea air—iodine, brine and a whisper of medicinal notes. Beneath that, vanilla and toasted oak from first-fill American casks lend warmth, while French wine casks unfurl dark fruit and spice. The aroma stays maritime and bold, a smoky, coastal elegance with a soft, sweet underside that beckons the palate.
Palate
Islay peat and sea-salt smoke dominate the palate, with iodine and brine carried on a wave of creamy vanilla from first-fill American oak. Dark chocolate, espresso and a touch of red-fruit spice from the French wine casks unfold as the smoke softens. Full-bodied and luxurious, it finishes long with char, pepper and mineral brine.
Finish
Long, maritime finish: peat and smoke ride a wave of sea breeze, leaving a saline, mineral core that lingers with a warm ember glow. As the smoke slowly softens, subtle oak and dark fruit notes from the wine casks emerge, weaving in cocoa and spice. The finish stays plush and warming, echoing Islay’s rugged coast long after the last sip.
