A cracking indepedent bottle of peaty single malt from Scotland. Lots of fresh citrus notes followed by layers and layers of oily peat notes. An absolute must have dram for lovers of all things islay.

Tasting Notes

Colour

Deep golden amber with coppery highlights and a sunlit, honeyed glow.

Nose

Salty sea air unfurls over earthy, boggy notes and green herbs, with hints of anise and oily pear drops.

Palate

Green fruit tinged with sea salt, white pepper and anise; yeasty, doughy notes with lime-tinged peat and mossy carbolic soap.

Finish

Chilli flake on green seaweed, white pepper, anise and medicinal-tinged pear drops. A brisk, coastal finish: refreshing, zingy and maritime, with the peat lingering long enough to keep it distinctly Islay.
