Octomore Seventeen Series Single Malt Scotch Whisky Bundle

This Octomore 17 Series Bundle brings together all three releases from Bruichladdich’s Chromatic Signatures collection: Octomore 17.1, 17.2 and 17.3. Each is aged for five years, yet the three whiskies explore very different combinations of barley, cask and provenance. From classic first-fill bourbon maturation through to red wine, Port and an eclectic mix of European wine casks, the set offers a complete look at how Octomore’s super heavily peated spirit can be shaped without losing its distinctive Islay character.

Octomore 17.1 is made from 100% Scottish mainland Concerto barley, malted to 81.0 PPM and matured entirely in first-fill bourbon barrels. Bottled at 59.7% ABV, it is the most direct expression of the trio, combining vanilla, Scottish tablet, warm custard and pear drops with dry earthy smoke, smouldering oak and a streak of coastal salinity.

Octomore 17.2, also malted to 81.0 PPM from Scottish mainland Concerto barley, takes a more fruit-driven direction. Matured initially in second-fill French oak casks that previously held Californian red wine and bourbon before a finish in first-fill Port barriques, it is bottled at 59.5% ABV. Strawberry, blackberry and cassis meet pepper, citrus and steadily building peat, creating a rich, vibrant balance of dark fruit and smoke.

Octomore 17.3 completes the set with 100% Islay Concerto barley grown in Irene’s Field at Octomore Farm and malted to a considerably higher 132.1 PPM. Matured in a combination of first-fill bourbon barrels and second-fill Ribera del Duero, Sauternes, Eiswein and Syrah casks, it is bottled at 60.9% ABV. Salted caramel, smoked apple, toasted coconut, praline and vanilla cream are wrapped in deeply charred peat, citrus oils and maritime salinity, making it the most overtly provenance-led expression of the three.
