Just 120 of these very rare bottles were available for the whole of Europe and which were bottled in in honour of the Nikka company founder. Made using a combination of matt whisky from Nikka's Yoichi and Miyagikyo distilleries that have been aged for at least 25 years.

A heady mix of floral aromas, beautifully balanced sherry flavours and subtle peat smoke. Arguably one of the finest whiskies ever produced by the Nikka Whisky Distilling Co.

Tasting Notes

Colour

Deep amber-gold with copper undertones and a mahogany glow.

Nose

A heady bouquet of florals greets the nose, entwined with rich sherry notes and a subtle hint of peat smoke. Elegant, layered and refined, with perfumed fruit and polished oak lingering.

Palate

Silky, poised on the palate with floral brightness giving way to sherry depth. Rich malt, honeyed sweetness and polished oak unfold, tempered by a whisper of peat smoke. Superb balance drives a long, elegant finish with gentle spice and a soft, warming afterglow.

Finish

Impeccably long and refined, the finish carries sherry sweetness with delicate peat, fading into a soft floral echo and subtle oak spice. It lingers gracefully, inviting another thoughtful sip.

Nikka Taketsuru
(NIK-ah tah-ket-SOO-roo) Nikka Taketsuru takes its name from Masataka Taketsuru, the Hiroshima-born son of a sake-brewing family who travelled to Scotland in 1918 to study whisky-making. He founded Dai Nippon Kaju, the predecessor of Nikka Whisky, in 1934 and completed Yoichi Distillery in Hokkaido later that year, followed by Miyagikyo Distillery in 1969.
