Tasting Notes

Colour

Deep amber with coppery highlights and a warm mahogany edge.

Nose

Elegantly sherried, the nose opens with dark fruit—prune, raisin and fig—brightened by orange zest. Rich cocoa and toasted almond deepen the sweetness, while burnt sugar and a whisper of espresso add depth. Layered with polished oak, leather and a touch of tobacco, it yields a refined, aged aroma that speaks of quiet confidence and cellared maturity.

Palate

Silky, full-bodied palate where dried raisin and fig fuse with orange zest, cocoa and almond. Sherry sweetness coats dark toffee and spice—cinnamon, nutmeg—while refined oak adds structure. Long, velvety finish with a warm, chocolate-kissed afterglow.

Finish

An elegant, sherried finish that lingers long after the sip. Dried fruit, fig and raisin sweetness sits on cocoa and toasted oak, with a gentle spice echo that fades to a refined, silky glow.

(Mill-Burn) Millburn is a lost Highland single malt Scotch whisky distillery from Inverness, with possible origins dating back as early as 1805, although whisky production does not appear to have begun at that time. It was the oldest of the three remaining Inverness distilleries that were all closed during the 1980s, alongside Glen Albyn and Glen Mhor.
