Tasting Notes

Colour

Rich, deep amber with coppery highlights and a hint of mahogany around the rim.

Nose

Sherry-kissed and refined, the nose reveals dark fruits—fig, prune, and raisin—lifted by orange zest. Almond and cocoa notes mingle with baking spice and polished oak, while a delicate leather edge hints at age and quiet sophistication.

Palate

Soft yet defined on the palate, a satin mouthfeel carries raisin, fig and orange zest with a sherried sweetness that never overwhelms. Notes of toasted almond, dark chocolate, and cocoa nib mingle with nutmeg and hints of leather. The finish is refined and lingering, with gentle spice and a cocoa-tinged warmth that echoes the old-wood maturity.

Finish

Sherry-softened finish that lingers with dried fig and orange zest, then dark chocolate and spice. Toasted almond and polished oak emerge, warming the palate before a long, quiet fade.

(Mill-Burn) Millburn is a lost Highland single malt Scotch whisky distillery from Inverness, with possible origins dating back as early as 1805, although whisky production does not appear to have begun at that time. It was the oldest of the three remaining Inverness distilleries that were all closed during the 1980s, alongside Glen Albyn and Glen Mhor.
