Deep amber with coppery, mahogany undertones.

Nose

Orange zest and ripe apricot lead to dried fig and sultana, cushioned by vanilla and toffee from well‑seasoned oak. A gentle sherry warmth threads through, with whispers of cinnamon and nutmeg, and a delicate note of cocoa and almond rounding out the bouquet.

Palate

Silky and balanced, this Macallan reveals caramel toffee, vanilla and polished oak, with hints of dried orange zest and sultana. A creamy mid-palate coats the tongue, opening to a warm, spice-kissed finish and lingering oak.

Finish

An extended, warming finish that lingers with vanilla-soft sweetness, evolving into toasted oak and subtle spice. Hints of dried fruit emerge before a graceful, persistent fade, leaving a refined, resinous glow on the palate.

The Macallan
Macallan was founded by Alexander Reid in 1824 on the Easter Elchies Estate above the River Spey, and it was one of the first distilleries in Scotland to become legally licensed. The name comes from the older place name “Maghellan”, combining the Gaelic magh for fertile ground with a reference to St Fillan, who was associated with the church that once stood on the estate. Easter Elchies House, which remains central to the brand’s identity, dates from around 1700 and still sits at the heart of the estate.
