The second of two extremely mature Linkwoods from The Mackillop's Choice Single Cask series. Aged for 30 years in a single refill Bourbon Barrel before being bottled in 2020 at natural cask strength.

Lots of classic Linkwood character here, with a smooth and supple palate complimented by subtle caramel and citrus flavour from the cask.

Bright, pale gold with honeyed warmth and a soft amber glow.

Nose

Toffee sweetness overlays a broad vegetal malt, with subtle caramel and grainy depth lingering in the aroma.

Palate

Smooth and supple on the palate, with the sweetness of shortbread biscuits and toffee, lifted by citrus notes. A refined, lingering finish with a gentle waxy lift.

Finish

A waxy, full finish that lingers with subtle spice, leaving a gentle citrus glow and a warm, polished finale.

Linkwood
(LINK-wood) Linkwood was founded in 1821 by Peter Brown on the Linkwood Estate near Elgin, with production beginning in 1825. His son William Brown rebuilt the distillery in 1874, and the Brown family remained involved until the Linkwood-Glenlivet Distillery Company was formed at the end of the 19th century. Scottish Malt Distillers took control in the early 1930s, bringing Linkwood into what later became Diageo.
