In stock
Bottled by Duncan Taylor for The Octave collection, this GlenAllachie was distilled in 2008 and bottled in 2026 at 17 years old. Drawn from single Pedro Ximénez octave cask #3050994, it was bottled at 55.3% ABV with an exceptionally limited outturn of just 87 bottles.
The small PX-seasoned octave cask adds concentrated layers of dried fruit, dark sweetness and warming spice to GlenAllachie’s rich Speyside character. Raisins, figs and treacle combine with chocolate, roasted nuts and seasoned oak, creating a powerful single-cask whisky with considerable depth and a long, sherried finish.

Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep amber with coppery highlights and mahogany depth, a warm, glass-staining hue that suggests aged wood and sunset tones.
Nose
Ripe dried fruits—raisin, fig and apricot—merge with orange zest and caramelized toffee from the Madeira cask. Walnut and almond add nuttiness, while vanilla sweetness underpins the aroma. Warm spice—cinnamon and clove—kisses with a touch of heat, with a subtle espresso/cocoa lift that promises depth and elegance.
Palate
Opulent and full on the palate, The Octave yields a rich, warming mouthfeel at high strength. Caramel and toffee lead to dried fruit—raisin, fig, and date—with Madeira lift threading through orange zest and dark chocolate. Spices bloom—nutmeg and clove—against gentle oak tannins, delivering a long, savory-sweet finish with persistent warmth.
Finish
Opulent and long, the finish carries a Madeira-tinged sweetness that lingers. Dried fig and apricot mingle with roasted toffee, burnt sugar, and orange marmalade, while cocoa nibs and gentle spice weave through vanilla oak. A silky warmth coats the palate, leaving espresso and caramel notes drifting into a refined, lasting glow.
