This 19 Year Old Ledaig from the Isle of Mull’s Tobermory distillery is the nineteenth batch, a release of just 475 bottles were produced from this outrun. Distilled in September 1997, and matured in a single Sherry butt until it was bottled.

Tasting Notes

Nose

An oily maritime smoke drifts through an autumnal walk in the forest. There’s a damp wood, leafy forest floor feel to this, alongside hints of rich marmalade and cinnamon buns.

Palate

The oiliness continues with the mouthfeel. Sweet fruity gum with peppery spices and a pinch of salt. Finishing with a lingering beach bonfire smoke.

(Le-Chig) Ledaig is the heavily peated single malt Scotch whisky made at Tobermory Distillery on the Isle of Mull. The name means “safe haven” and was the original name used when John Sinclair founded the distillery in 1798, making it one of Scotland’s older surviving distilling sites.
