Tasting Notes

Nose

Peat smoke lifts with sea air, a briny thread weaving through warm vanilla and oak from the bourbon hogshead. Lemon zest and toasted almond brighten the sweetness, while iodine, seaweed and a faint pepper lend maritime edge. A crisp mineral core anchors the aroma, finishing with a long, savory-sweet echo.

(Le-Chig) Ledaig is the heavily peated single malt Scotch whisky made at Tobermory Distillery on the Isle of Mull. The name means “safe haven” and was the original name used when John Sinclair founded the distillery in 1798, making it one of Scotland’s older surviving distilling sites.
