Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep amber with coppery, ruby-tinged highlights and a warm, wine-bronze glow.
Nose
Bold peat and sea-salt weave with smoked barley, while Pomerol red wine cask finish adds red-fruit warmth—bright cherry and plum with a whisper of vanilla. Cocoa, leather and spice deepen the aroma, creating a maritime, tobacco-kissed profile that hints at Ledaig’s smoky character matured with age.
Palate
Powerful, oily and richly peaty, this Ledaig wears coastal smoke and iodine, tempered by the plush sweetness of Pomerol red wine cask. Ripe black cherry and plum mingle with cocoa, leather and spice, while black pepper sharpens the mid-palate. A full, warming mouthfeel at 58% ABV lingers with smoky sweetness, drying tannins and a long wine-kissed finish.
Finish
Long, smoky finish where the peat lingers, entwined with red-fruit richness from the Pomerol cask: dark cherry and plum with hints of blackberry. Velvety tannins, cocoa and spice drift through, finishing dry, elegantly oaked and warmly lingering.
