Distilled from barley sourced less than six miles from the Kingsbarns Distillery, our flagship single malt Doocot has enjoyed a longer maturation in cask, maintaining balance and developing complexity. Production Director Isabella Wemyss has carefully selected a combination of Ex-Bourbon and STR (shaved, toasted and re-charred) ex-Portuguese red wine casks to mature Doocot.Full of sweet, fruity character, Doocot is light, intensely fruity, floral and complemented by a rich color coming from the high quality casks it has matured in.
Kingsbarns Doocot received a gold medal and a fantastic score of 95 points. The judges loved its "delicate nose showing truly classic aromatics of rich and spicy characteristics. Some acidic and savoury touches leading into a polite palate with sweet undertones of icing sugar and balanced orchard fruit"

Nose
Sweet and floral on the nose, with soft brown sugar, banana cake batter and tropical fruit notes; an inviting, delicate bouquet hinting at cask-driven sweetness and fruit-forward character.
Palate
Pineapple syrup, summer berries and a hint of rhubarb define a bright, fruit-forward palate, delivering a lively sweetness balanced by fresh acidity and orchard-fruit notes.
Finish
Long and bright, the finish unfolds with kiwi fruit and citrus zest, a clean, zesty fade that lingers with tropical sweetness and a buoyant citrus oil glow.
