(KINGS-barns) Kingsbarns Distillery officially opened on St Andrew’s Day in 2014 in the East Neuk of Fife, a few miles from St Andrews, after the Wemyss family expanded from independent bottling into distilling. The first cask was filled in March 2015, the distillery’s first whisky was released for Founders Club members in 2018, and Dream to Dram became the first general release in January 2019.

The whisky is built around a light, fruity Lowland style, using Fife-grown barley, water from the distillery’s own source, a long fermentation and a high cut point in distillation. That approach sits behind the core range, including Dream to Dram, Balcomie and Doocot, and the early releases have already picked up notable recognition, with Dream to Dram named Best Lowlands Single Malt at the World Whisky Awards in both 2020 and 2022.
