Cask Strength Distillery Bottling

This limited release of cask strength Single Malt from the family-owned distillery has been distilled using only Fife barley. It is expertly blended from two types of casks; ex-bourbon ex-STR (shaved, toasted & recharred) red wine barriques. After Kingsbarns spirit has been matured in these casks, the result is a fruity, complex and light Whisky.

Tasting Notes

Colour

Bright pale gold with a sunlit straw sheen and subtle warm-amber highlights.

Nose

Baking spices rise to the fore, mingling with bright orange oil, vanilla pods, cherry tobacco and a delicate kiss of apricot.

Palate

Sticky stem ginger pudding with freshly grated orange zest, delivering warm spice, citrus lift and a soft, fruity sweetness on the palate.

Finish

Long, refined finish built on wood spice and clove, with rhubarb and a whisper of ginger jam.

(KINGS-barns) Kingsbarns Distillery officially opened on St Andrew’s Day in 2014 in the East Neuk of Fife, a few miles from St Andrews, after the Wemyss family expanded from independent bottling into distilling. The first cask was filled in March 2015, the distillery’s first whisky was released for Founders Club members in 2018, and Dream to Dram became the first general release in January 2019.
