King's Inch Single Malt Whisky 8 Year Old
In stock
King's Inch is a marriage of Single Malt expressions matured in Oloroso Sherry, Tennessee Bourbon & Kentucky Bourbon casks.
The new make spirit - developed by Jim Swan and distilled by renowned distiller Jack Mayo - was designed to extract maximum flavour from the casks it was left to mature in.
King's Inch 8 Year Old is a great example of a bourbon and sherry cask vatting made specifically to be bottled at a younger age statement. West coast barley, narrow cut points in the distillation and fresh (some would say wet) casks all contribute to the deep and ever changing nature of the spirit.

Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep amber with a rich mahogany glow and coppery highlights.
Nose
Bursting with toasted cereal freshness, it unfurls into honeycomb sweetness and warming spice, framed by oak.
Palate
Subtly smooth at first, whispers of cereal and marzipan give way to a crack of black pepper and spice. Mid-palate delivers fruit cake sweetness, carried by the sizzle of oak, leaving a long, warming finish on the tongue.
Finish
A long, slow finish rises from mid-palate, leaving dried fruit on the tongue with a soft kiss of orange peel and spice that lingers.
