Kinclaith was the name given to the single malt made at the distillery built within the grounds of the Strathclyde grain distillery and was the last malt distillery to be built in Glasgow (until the recent opening of two new ones in 2017 on the banks of the Clyde) and had a short lifespan of production between 1957 and 1982 when it was demolished.
There are no official bottlings of Kinclaith, hence any bottles from this distillery are super rare, expensive and highly sought after by collectors.
This is a release from 1995 under the old map label series of Connoisseurs choice bottlings from Gordon & Macphail.

Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep amber-gold with copper highlights and a touch of mahogany.
Nose
Sherried depth with dark raisins, prunes and figs, mingled with orange zest and toffee. Polished oak, cocoa and a touch of leather and spice, with a discreet whisper of smoke.
Palate
Silky, medium-bodied, the palate opens with gentle sherried sweetness—dried fig, prune and raisin mingling with orange zest. Malty biscuity notes cradle the tongue as warm spice—nutmeg and cinnamon—tiptoe in, adding depth. Almonds and a whisper of cocoa emerge, balanced by subtle oak tannins, leaving a long, refined finish of fruitcake and lingering warmth.
Finish
Elegant and enduring, the finish unfolds slowly with cocoa-dusted dried fruits, walnut and ginger spice. Sherried sweetness lingers in a warm, oak-polished glow, leaving a refined, contemplative echo on the palate.
