A whisky only Jura could make, born of our island and still produced today in a bottle originally shaped to withstand the roughest of journeys from our home. Crafted in exceptionally tall stills, matured for 10 years in America White Oak ex-bourbon barrels and the fresh sea air with a further enhancement from the finest aged Oloroso Sherry casks from Jerez, Spain.

Tasting Notes

Colour

Rich amber-gold with coppery flashes and a warm, honey-bronze glow.

Nose

Ripe fruit notes mingle with cracked pepper and dark chocolate, a maritime breeze threading through the aroma.

Palate

Juicy nectarines with a lively ginger kick, rounded by the comforting, roasted notes of freshly ground coffee.

Finish

Maritime finish with sea air lingering on the palate. Oloroso sherry sweetness weaves through cocoa and vanilla oak, while nectarines and ginger leave a warm fruit-spice glow. Pepper and espresso notes fade slowly, leaving a clean, contemplative finish.

Jura
(isle-o’-JEW-ra) Jura was founded in 1810 by Archibald Campbell, Laird of Jura, and was originally known as Small Isles Distillery. The island’s name is widely traced to Old Norse for “deer island”, with red deer still far outnumbering the human residents. The distillery was officially licensed in 1831, later passed to James Ferguson & Sons, and closed in 1901 before remaining silent for more than six decades.
