A 5cl miniature of the Jura Diurachs Own 16 Year Old. This has matured for 14 years in American white oak, before spending a further two years in ex-Amoroso Oloroso sherry casks.

The double maturation results in a full-bodied malt with a Christmas cake flavour, lots of dark chocolate, rich dried fruits and candied fruit peel. A lingering, chocolate finish with hints of toasted oak.

Colour

Deep amber with coppery highlights and a bronzed mahogany glow.

Nose

Aromas of Christmas cake and dark chocolate rise from the glass, with dried fruits—raisins and figs—plus candied orange peel. Subtle spice and toasted oak add warmth, hinting at Amoroso sherry influence.

Palate

Full-bodied and luxurious on the palate, with Christmas cake spice, dark chocolate and a tapestry of dried fruits and candied peel. Sherry influence adds velvety sweetness and cocoa depth, finishing long with chocolatey notes and toasted oak.

Finish

A long, chocolate-forward finish with hints of toasted oak, leaving a cocoa-dusted afterglow that lingers.

Jura
(isle-o’-JEW-ra) Jura was founded in 1810 by Archibald Campbell, Laird of Jura, and was originally known as Small Isles Distillery. The island’s name is widely traced to Old Norse for “deer island”, with red deer still far outnumbering the human residents. The distillery was officially licensed in 1831, later passed to James Ferguson & Sons, and closed in 1901 before remaining silent for more than six decades.
