Aged in Refill American Hogsheads for 14 years.

One of the lesser known Speyside malts but a real gem and much loved by those in the know and worth a try if you like your classic Speyside malts such as Glenlivet or Glenfiddich.

Tasting Notes

Colour

Pale gold with bright straw undertones and a delicate honey glow.

Nose

Dry meadow grasses mingle with beeswax-polished aromas. Sweetness evolves with time as white chocolate and vanilla pod mingle with fresh pear and green apple.

Palate

A tropical fruit celebration; melon, kiwi, ripe nectarine, and grapefruit flavours each take a turn in the limelight. Warming pepper develops, opening into a drying cacao powder edge.

Finish

Medium-length finish, toasted oak comes to the fore.

Glentauchers
(Glen-TAW-kers) Glentauchers was founded near Mulben in 1897 by James Buchanan and W.P. Lowrie, with production beginning in 1898. Its early history was closely tied to blending from the outset, with James Buchanan & Co taking full ownership in 1906 before later becoming part of DCL in 1925. The distillery was expanded in 1966, closed during the whisky downturn in 1985, and returned to production in 1992.
