GlenAllachie That Boutique-y Whisky Company Batch #2 Single Malt Scotch Whisky 8 Year Old
Out of stock
This is the first aged bottling of Glenallachie single malt Scotch whisky from That Boutique-y Whisky Company, and the label, as always, references something interesting about the distillery.
Glenallachie means 'Valley of the Rocky Place', and the label features a bunch of fish playing a rock concert in a valley! What type of fish are they? Could they be plaice?
Aged for 8 years and from a single cask that yielded just 231 bottles.
Bottled at natural cask strength of 53.9% ABV.
A lesser known Speyside distillery that is soon to be better known now Billy Walker of Benriach & Glendronach fame has taken over the distillery with exciting releases to come.
It may be young but this has oodles of charm and has a real summer vibe of jugs of homemade lemonade in the garden about it.

Tasting Notes
Colour
Rich, sunlit amber with coppery sheen and a mahogany undertone.
Nose
Fresh barley fields and toasted oats form the backbone, mingling with runny honey and dried apricot in a flapjack-like sweetness. Golden-syrup sponge and ripe melon unfold with candied tropical fruit, all lifted by barley-water and a quince jelly brightness.
Palate
On the palate, candied fruit and toasted cereals mingle with honeyed oat flapjacks, cloaked in a waxy, resinous texture. Notes of homemade lemonade and a cordial-like nuance emerge, then the finish trends grassy with green fruit, punctuated by peppery ginger spice that lends a lively, refreshing bite.
Finish
Lime barley water cordial lingers, with waxy orchard fruits, sweet spice, candied tropical fruit, and a malty vanilla sherbet dip.
