Tasting Notes
Colour
Warm mahogany-amber with copper highlights; a deep honey-gold glow that deepens to bronze in the glass, hinting at sherry-cask richness.
Nose
Soft, inviting aromas of honeyed orchard fruit unfold with vanilla cream and almond. Subtle sherry notes bring dried fig and prune, cloaked in cocoa and toffee, with a bright hint of orange zest. A light malt sweetness and a whisper of maritime air frame the bouquet.
Palate
Silky, medium-bodied, this Glen Ord 12-year sherry-cask dram coats the palate with dried fig, raisin and candied orange over toasted malt. Nutmeg, cocoa and almond mingle with warm oak spice, while subtle tannins lift a lingering finish of gentle sweetness and orchard fruit.
Finish
Silky and lingering, the finish carries raisin and fig with dark chocolate, touched by orange zest and clove. The sherry-softened oak coats the palate, slipping to toasted almond and a warm, honeyed fade that gradually dissolves into quiet elegance.
