As Deanston distillery was born of an entrepreneurial spirit, so too was their new Dragon’s Milk Stout Cask Finish. What better way to celebrate their roots, and toast the makers, than by partnering with kindred spirits.
New Holland Brewing Company is one such kindred spirit. Driven by their own entrepreneurialism and creativity, they brew, mature and bottle an impressive selection of beers and spirits. Their flagship brand is a bourbon barrel aged stout called Dragon’s Milk. This resulted in Deanston Dragon’s Milk, Stout Cask Finish. A bold and experimental single malt, sweet and malty, with a woody bitterness you would expect from a rich stout influence.

Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep mahogany with coppery highlights and a glossy, stout-dark glow.
Nose
Crisp green apple brightens the aroma, balanced by honeyed sweetness and roasted malt. A subtle lift of hops threads through, adding a refined, gentle bitterness that hints at the stout finish.
Palate
A generous mouth-coating sweetness of malt, unfolding with vanilla and caramel, then bright citrus and a woody, stout-driven bitterness.
Finish
Dry and refined, the finish lingers with stone-fruit brightness, complemented by a subtle espresso note that threads through, leaving a quiet, coffee-kissed fade.
