The current 2004 vintage of the Distiller's Edition Dalwhinnie has been given an extra maturation period in ex-Oloroso Sherry casks, imparting extra spice, fruit, and sweetness to this delicate highland single malt.
Lovers of Dalwhinnie will appreciate the way the fragrance of Oloroso overlays, but doesn't mask, the heather honeyed character of the whisky.

Golden amber with a warm, honeyed copper glow.
Nose
Delicate and honeyed, this nose threads heather and soft orchard fruit with toasted almond and a touch of nutty sweetness. An overlay of Oloroso sherry brings warm spice and dried fruit, elevating the bouquet without masking the Dalwhinnie’s light, honeyed Highland finesse.
Palate
Silky, honeyed and bright on the palate, with orchard fruit and toasted almond. Oloroso cask influence delivers warm spice—cinnamon, clove—alongside raisin and fig notes, all woven over heather honey and a touch of oak. The finish is softly nutty, with delicate sweetness lingering and a gentle warming glow.
Finish
Long, refined finish of toasted spice and dried fruit, underscored by honeyed sweetness. The ex-Oloroso sherry influence adds a gentle warmth and subtle oak, allowing the heather honey character to linger gracefully.
