Tasting Notes

Colour

Golden amber with honeyed warmth and a pale, sunlit glow.

Nose

Light and fruity on the nose, with hints of lemon and kiwi. Coconut and toasted malt aromas linger.

Palate

Chilli spice flares on arrival, evolving into juicy raspberries and bittersweet dark chocolate. A tobacco-laced finish lingers, wrapped in a smooth, medium-bodied texture with subtle oak warmth.

Finish

Long, warming finish with lingering chili spice giving way to cocoa and tobacco. A veil of vanilla from the bourbon cask softens the fade, while toasted oak preserves a refined, warm afterglow.

Craigellachie
(Craig-ELL-a-key) Craigellachie was built in 1890, with production beginning in 1891, and was designed by Charles Doig for a consortium led by Alexander Edward and Peter Mackie. From the start it was closely tied to the White Horse blend, and that link shaped much of the distillery’s early history. Long known locally as the White Horse Distillery, Craigellachie later became part of Bacardi in 1998 through John Dewar & Sons.
