Tasting Notes

Colour

Warm golden honey with amber highlights, a sunlit, radiant glow.

Nose

Honeyed sweetness and ripe orchard fruits greet the nose, with a gentle vanilla warmth. Subtle spice—cinnamon and nutmeg—binds to soft oak and sherry-cask caramel, creating a creamy, balanced aroma that speaks to Cardhu’s timeless elegance and two-century legacy.

Palate

Silky on the palate, honeyed sweetness wraps ripe orchard fruits with a creamy edge. Subtle spice threads through the mid-palate, joined by soft oak and a touch of toffee, delivering a balanced, smooth profile that finishes warm and lingering with refined, celebratory character.

Finish

The finish is long and velvet, with honeyed sweetness lingering alongside ripe orchard fruit and a gentle spice. Sherry-cask depth adds warmth and a subtle nutty nuance, fading to a refined, balanced glow that lingers, echoing Cardhu’s timeless elegance.

Cardhu
(car-DOO) Cardhu is one of the oldest distilleries on Speyside. In its early days, Cardow/Cardhu was synonymous with the role of women in distilling; it is suggested that the Cardow farmer's wife, Helen Cumming was in charge of distillation in the early, unlicensed days of production.
