Tasting Notes

Colour

Radiant golden amber with honeyed warmth and subtle coppery glints, a sunlit glow in the glass.

Nose

Warm vanilla and honey lead into toasted oak and subtle malt, unfurling into ripe orchard fruit, green apple and pear, brightened by citrus zest. A gentle spice of nutmeg and a whisper of almonds add depth, finishing with a soft, creamy sweetness.

Palate

Silky and refined, the palate blooms with honeyed orchard fruit—apple and pear—alongside vanilla and creamy toffee. Subtle oak and spice (cinnamon, nutmeg) unfold over a smooth mid-weight body. A warm, lingering finish with citrus zest and a hint of almond.

Finish

Medium-long finish with a warm, creamy spice. Vanilla and honey linger, joined by toasted oak, while delicate orchard fruit and subtle almond notes drift away to a soft, comforting finale.

Bushmills traces its whiskey heritage to 1608, when King James I granted Sir Thomas Phillips a licence to distil in County Antrim. The Old Bushmills Distillery was formally registered in 1784 by Hugh Anderson, making it one of the most historic names in Irish whiskey. Production is centred in the village of Bushmills, close to the River Bush, with the distillery long associated with triple-distilled Irish whiskey made from malted barley.
