Tasting Notes

Colour

Deep amber with radiant golden and copper highlights, a warm honey-gold hue.

Nose

Mellow butter-toffee opens the nose, mingling stewed apple, ginger spice and hazelnut, lifted by honeyed barley cereal.

Palate

Apple Danish pastry sweetness greets the palate, giving way to chewy toffee and a chocolate malt shake. Nutty walnut whispers emerge, carried on a gentle sweet spice and toasted vanilla backbone for a smooth, comforting finish.

Finish

Marzipan notes fuse with cherry jam on toast, as vanilla fudge glides across the palate. The finish stretches long and luxurious, a warm, silken encore that lingers with comforting sweetness.

Bushmills traces its whiskey heritage to 1608, when King James I granted Sir Thomas Phillips a licence to distil in County Antrim. The Old Bushmills Distillery was formally registered in 1784 by Hugh Anderson, making it one of the most historic names in Irish whiskey. Production is centred in the village of Bushmills, close to the River Bush, with the distillery long associated with triple-distilled Irish whiskey made from malted barley.
