Tasting Notes

Colour

Bright pale-gold with honeyed amber highlights and a sunlit glow.

Nose

Clean, honeyed nose with a bright citrus lift and softly malted cereal. Vanilla and coconut mingle with gentle toffee from the ex-Bourbon casks, while creamy Maris Otter notes bring biscuit and bread-dough hints, finished with a whisper of sea air and light almond.

Palate

Silky, malt-forward palate with creamy vanilla and biscuity sweetness, edged by orchard fruit and citrus zest. Subtle spice glides through a soft oak frame, while hints of coconut and toffee linger into a long, clean finish.

Finish

Long, refined finish with vanilla and creamy toffee from the ex-Bourbon maturation, tempered by gentle oak spice. A whisper of coastal salt and citrus lingers, leaving a warm malt sweetness that slowly fades.

Bruichladdich
(brook-LADDIE) Bruichladdich distillery is the home of four different malts: the unpeated Bruichladdich, the heavily peated Port Charlotte, the even more peated (and rarely seen) Lochindaal and the super heavily peated Octomore. The distillery was built in 1881 by the Harvey Brothers and at the time it was viewed as a very modern establishment.  It is situated in The Rhinns, in the west of the island, overlooking Loch Indaal. It ran under a succession of different owners including Whyte and Mackay and Murray McDavid before being purchased by Remy Cointreau in 2012.
