Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep amber with coppery-bronze hues and a burnished mahogany edge, framed by a warm sherry glow.
Nose
Ledaig’s coastal peat and smoke rise in a halo of sea air, wrapped in rich sherry sweetness. Iodine and tar mingle with brine, while dried fig and raisin unfold under hints of orange zest, cocoa, and vanilla. Toasted oak lends a refined backbone, completing a warm maritime depth.
Palate
Bold peat leads the palate, tempered by lush sherry. Dried fig and fruitcake mingle with resinous smoke, maritime salt, and cocoa through the malt. Silky and mouth-coating, with orange zest, toffee, and a whisper of iodine. The finish lengthens into warming spice and subtle ash, leaving a persistent, smoky sweetness.
Finish
Long, smoke-laden finish with peat and rich sherry fruit intertwined. Dried fig and dark raisin give way to cocoa and espresso, while a saline, maritime thread lingers, fading to toasted spice and warm oak.
