Compass Box Flaming Heart 2018 Edition Whisky
In stock
First released in 2006, Flaming Heart was the first whisky to combine the rich, complex spice of Scotch aged in new French oak with the evocative peat-fired smoke of Islay malt. It created a genre-defying style that was smouldering, spicy and complex.
The 2018, 6th edition has reintroduced a subtle sherry-cask influence that adds an additional layer of complexity and richness. A medium smoky-peaty base is enriched by a sweet maltiness and notes of baking spices and dried fruit. Comprising malts from Caol Ila, Deanston and Clynelish, together with a proprietry Highland malt blend.

Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep amber with a warm copper-amber glow and burnished edges.
Nose
Smoky peat rises over a sweet malty core, with subtle sherry-cask warmth weaving through. Baking spices—cinnamon and clove—meet dried fruit notes of raisin and fig, while toasted oak and a hint of toffee add depth to a refined, lingering aroma.
Palate
Medium smoky-peat with a sweet malt core, unfolding baking spices and dried fruit. Subtle sherry-cask richness tones in raisin and fig, with a touch of cocoa and polished oak. The finish is long, peppery warmth, lingering smoky-spice.
Finish
Medium-long and evolving, the peat smoke persists, tempered by a subtle sherry sweetness. Baking spices mingle with dried fruit and malt, delivering a warm, velvety finish that gradually fades into refined coastal smoke and lingering richness.
