Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep amber-gold with coppery glints and mahogany edges, a warm, sunlit hue hinting at Sherry-influenced maturity.
Nose
Heady peat smoke draped with sherried red fruit; dried cherries, plum and fig ride on a thread of vanilla, toffee and cocoa. Toasted almond, leather and spice deepen the aroma, while a saline maritime breeze and subtle iodine lift the finish. The sherry Tempranillo cask influence adds sweetness and depth, yielding a luxurious, smoky complexity.
Palate
Rich, smoky and sinuous, this opens with a molten core of Sherry Tempranillo sweetness weaving through the peat. Dried fig, raisin and plum rise, paired with dark chocolate, espresso and a whisper of orange zest. Leather, tobacco and briny sea salt lend depth as the finish lengthens, warm and subtly spicy from the wood, leaving a lingering ember of smoke.
Finish
Very long, smoky finish that glows with red-sherry fruit from the Tempranillo cask—ripe fig, plum and cocoa braided with a touch of vanilla. The peat hums in the background, then gradually fades to toasted oak, spice, and a coastal, saline edge, leaving a warm, resinous trace.
