Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep amber with ruby-red reflections and a wine-kissed copper glow.
Nose
Opitz One Pinot finish infuses a lush bouquet of red-berry compote—raspberry, cherry, plum—with Bruichladdich’s signature coastal peat. Vanilla and toasted oak provide a creamy backbone, while wine-spice and a touch of juniper weave through the aroma. Warm, indulgent and maritime, it hints at sweetness without losing the Islay edge.
Palate
Silky, medium-full palate driven by a lush Pinot finish: ripe cherry, plum and red berries blend with honeyed vanilla, toffee and a hint of almond. Subtle coastal smoke and saline lift the fruit, while polished oak adds spice. Long, wine-kissed and gently drying, with an elegant, dessert-like sweetness lingering.
Finish
Long and elegant, this finish releases bright red fruit from the Pinot finish—cherry, raspberry and a touch of blackberry—layered with vanilla, cocoa and fine oak. A whisper of spice and coastal smoke maintains sweetness through a warm, refined, lingering saline finish.
