Braeval Uncharted Whisky Co. Hot Chocolate Single Malt Scotch Whisky 11 Year Old
In stock
This PX sherry cask has ambushed the headstrong Braeval spirit, wrestled it to submission, smothered it in chocolate, dipped it in hot butterscotch and served to you like a cask strength sundae. This is PX sherry matured Scotch at it’s richest.
A story… in the far south of Spain lies Jerez. There they make sherry. Pedro Ximénez is the darkest, most decadent of them all- a sticky, syrupy wine made from sun-dried grapes, bursting with flavours raisins, figs, and molasses. The cask previously used to make that unctuous sherry have housed this coca cola colour Scotch and they’ve left their mark. The colour runs deep, the nose is palpable, and the palate? Intoxicating.
Think dark chocolate, stewed fruits, and a warmth that wraps around you like a winter blanket. This isn’t a subtle whisky- this is full PX immersion.
Bottled at 61.7% ABV and of course natural colour, Hot Chocolate is Braeval like you’ve never tasted Braeval before.

Tasting Notes
Colour
Coca-cola deep, nearly black with a glossy dark mahogany sheen.
Nose
Opulent and syrupy, the nose unfurls dark chocolate and cocoa, layered with sun-dried raisins and fig paste. PX sherry wraps Braeval in molasses, with whispers of toffee, orange zest and warm spice. Palpable, decadent and inviting—a cask-strength dessert aroma you’d savor.
Palate
Opulent and powerfully sweet, this Braeval pours with dark chocolate, stewed figs and raisins, and a syrupy molasses core. PX sherry depth winds through the fruit, while 61.7% ABV delivers a warming spine. Hot chocolate and butterscotch cloak the palate, finishing long, decadent, and dessert-like.
Finish
An opulent, long finish that coats the palate in dark chocolate and hot butterscotch, with PX-driven fruitiness lingering like a sherry blanket. Raisin, fig and molasses threads weave through spice and wood, delivering a warming, cask-strength glow that slowly fades to velvet.
