Tasting Notes

Colour

Deep amber-gold with coppery flashes and a wine-warm, ruby-tinged hue.

Nose

Sweet malt, toffee apple and a gentle hint of mild tobacco rise on the nose, inviting a warm, caramel-tinged orchard sweetness.

Palate

Forest fruits flood the palate, balanced by a rich, buttery malt and a touch of floral honey. The texture is creamy and lightly oily, giving a polished sweetness that lingers with berry notes.

Finish

A silky, oily finish coats the palate, delivering creamy cereal notes that glide into a long, lingering berry sweetness.

Braeval
(bray-val) Braeval was built by Chivas Brothers in 1973 near Chapeltown in Speyside, originally opening as Braes of Glenlivet. The name was later changed to Braeval to avoid confusion with The Glenlivet, while its purpose remained largely the same: producing malt whisky for Chivas Brothers blends, including Chivas Regal. It is one of Scotland’s highest distilleries, sitting around 350 metres above sea level.
