Braeval Glaschu Pedro Ximenez Cask Matured Single Malt Scotch Whisky 10 Year Old · 2014 Vintage
In stock
Though rarely seen as an official single malt, Braeval has a loyal following among independent bottlers for its clean, elegant distillate and its ability to take on bold cask influence without losing balance. Fully matured for 10 years in a first fill Pedro Ximénez sherry cask, this Single Malt is a perfect example of this.
There’s a humorous story behind the artwork on this release. When Glaschu bought the cask, they believed it was from The Glenlivet. Caught up in their excitement, they began researching The Glenlivet and came across a striking old photograph of the distillery using steam-powered tractor trucks to transport casks along the road. Only later did they realise their error, and that it was in fact from Braeval. By then, the labels were already printed, so they embraced the mistake.
Proudly presented: their 10 year old Braeval bottling, entirely unrelated to The Glenlivet!
